If you're craving that soft, floral lavender flavor but want to skip the fake syrups and artificial additives, this easy 3-ingredient lavender syrup is your new go-to. It’s made with real dried lavender, sweetened just right, and you can even add a blueberry or two for that gorgeous purple hue — no food coloring needed. Simple, clean, and totally dreamy.

Homemade lavender syrup on a chopping block.

🪻Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender (Here is where I get mine!)

  • Optional: 1–2 blueberries (for a soft purple tint — no fake dyes here!)

📃 How to Make It:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. This is your simple syrup base.

  2. Add lavender. Reduce heat to low and stir in your dried lavender. Let it steep for about 10–15 minutes. You want the syrup to take on that light, earthy-floral vibe — not taste like soap, promise.

  3. Optional: Toss in a blueberry. Just one or two. It’ll add a subtle lavender hue without changing the flavor. Perfect if you’re making this as a gift or want your coffee syrup to feel a little extra fancy.

  4. Strain and cool. Strain out the lavender (and blueberry) with a fine mesh sieve. Pour the syrup into a glass jar or bottle and let it cool completely.

  5. Store in the fridge. It'll keep for about 2 weeks, but I bet you'll use it up faster.

Ways to Use Lavender Syrup:

  • Lavender Lemonade: Mix with fresh lemon juice, water, and ice for a floral twist on a summer classic.

  • Tea Time Upgrade: Stir into chamomile, green tea, or Earl Grey for calming vibes.

  • Lavender Honey Butter. Read that recipe here!

  • Yogurt Drizzle: Swirl it into plain or vanilla yogurt with berries and granola.

  • Lavender Milk: Add to warm or iced milk (dairy or plant-based) for a relaxing bedtime drink.

  • Cocktails & Mocktails: Try it in a gin & tonic, French 75, or with sparkling water and lemon.

  • Cake Glaze: Mix with powdered sugar for a delicate lavender glaze on baked goods.

  • Fruit Salad Glaze: Lightly toss with berries or stone fruit for a fragrant finish.

  • Popsicles: Add to homemade popsicle mixtures for a touch of floral flavor.

Simple. Sweet. Soothing.

And just complicated enough to feel like an accomplishment — without actually being one.

Happy Making,

Hayley
